Typespotting

Typespotting è un evento indipendente e autoprodotto dedicato alla tipografia come strumento creativo, linguaggio espressivo e territorio di sperimentazione.

È aperto solo a realtà indipendenti: professionisti, studi, collettivi e realtà non istituzionali.
La partecipazione è gratuita e non chiediamo niente in cambio, se non la voglia di condividere la passione per ciò che la tipografia è e può diventare.

Invitiamo partecipanti a presentare lavori che rientrino in uno dei seguenti campi. In tutti i casi, la tipografia deve essere centrale:

→ Type Design: caratteri retail, custom, open-source
→ Digitale: web, motion, sviluppo software
→ Editoriale: poster, libri, specimens, tecniche di stampa
→ Fisico: oggetti fisici, installazioni

Come partecipare:
Invia una breve descrizione del progetto o dei progetti su cui stai lavorando e che intendi presentare.
 A supporto della candidatura è possibile includere un testo, una bozza, un’immagine, un video, un link o una combinazione di questi elementi—qualsiasi formato va bene.
 Indica anche quale ambito (Type Design, Digitale, Editoriale o Fisico) rappresenta meglio il tuo progetto.
 Invia la tua candidatura a 2026@typespotting.it entro il 27 settembre 2026 EOD.
 I partecipanti selezionati saranno contattati entro l’inizio di ottobre.
 Nota: per favore, candidati solo se puoi garantire la tua presenza per tutta la durata dell’evento, compresi allestimento e smontaggio.

Durante la fiera sarà attivo uo spazio dedicato alle conferenze. Cerchiamo contributi che offrano riflessioni significative per il dibattito tipografico contemporaneo: ricerche o progetti personali, strumenti, metodi, processi.

Come partecipare:
Invia una breve descrizione di ciò che desideri presentare, spiegando anche il formato previsto: conferenza, roundtable, dimostrazione, eccetera.
 Invia la tua proposta a 2026@typespotting.it entro il 27 settembre 2026 EOD.
Se volessi chiedere anche uno spazio nella sala principale, nessun problema: puoi tranquillamente fare entrambe le cose. Ricordati solo di includere nella mail anche le informazioni utili a valutare la richiesta di spazio espositivo.

Sala Principale: ≈15 postazioni disponibili, ognuna con un tavolo da 220 × 65 cm

Sala Conferenze: I talk si svolgeranno durante tutto l’evento

Evento principale: Sabato 21 novembre (14:00—19:30)

Allestimento: Sabato 21 novembre (11:00—14:00)

Smontaggio: Sabato a fine evento (21:00—23:00)

L’evento è autogestito e privo di strutture organizzative istituzionali.
Cerchiamo progetti che ne riflettano lo spirito. Progetti diretti, aperti e autentici.

Typespotting is a self-produced, independent event dedicated to typography as a tool, a language, and a space for exploration.

The fair is open to independent realities only: individuals, studios, collectives, and non-institutional spaces.
There’s no fee to join, and nothing is expected in return – just a shared interest in what typography can do and become.

Participants are invited to submit work that falls into one of the following fields. In all cases, typography must be the central focus:

→ Type Design: open source, retail, or corporate typefaces
→ Digital: web-based, motion, or code-driven projects

→ Physical: printed matter, physical objects, or installations

How to Submit
Send a short description of the project(s) you’re currently working on and intend to showcase.
Your submission can be a brief text, an image or sketch, a video or a link—or a mix of any of these. Anything works. Also, please indicate which field (Type Design, Digital, or Physical) best represents your project. Send your submission to 2026@typespotting.it by September 27 2026 EOD.
 Selected participants will be contacted by the end of September. Note: please submit your application only if you can commit to attending the event from start to finish, including setting up and dismantling.

There will be a space for lectures running throughout the fair. We’re inviting submissions from independent voices who want to share something with the community—this could be your own work, ongoing research, a tool or process, or any topic you feel speaks to today’s typographic world.

How to Submit:
Your submission can be a short description of what you’d like to present, along with how you plan to do it—a talk, a conversation, a demo, a reading, or something else. Send your proposal to 2026@typespotting.it by September 27 2026 EOD.
If you’re also applying for a seat in the main room, you’re welcome to do both. Just remember to include in the email all the relevant information needed to assess the request for exhibition space. Note: unless specified otherwise, lectures will be held in italian. It is possible to propose lectures in english but please do let us know in advance.
